- Room Combining -
Room Combining Systems Using a four-room conference layout as an example, facility management can offer many room configurations: 1) four small rooms 2) two mid-sized rooms 3) two small rooms plus one mid-sized room 4) one small room plus one over-sized room or 5) one very large room. It’s the room combining system that keeps microphones and auxiliary equipment operating through the speakers within a specific room or group of "combined" rooms. So if four individual small rooms are created, it is possible to hold four simultaneous meetings, with each room having its own "independent" sound system. Yet, if a single large room is required, with all portable dividers open, then all microphones and auxiliary sources must be amplified through every speaker, to create a one large sound system. How are different room configurations selected? There are various control approaches. Some systems use a central graphic panel with simple pushbutton switches. The graphic panel shows a representation of the rooms. Simply pressing a switch that is positioned between rooms causes the adjacent rooms to "combine." Other systems use individual wall control plates in each room, while more sophisticated systems may use a custom graphic touch panel for selection. It’s also possible to have micro-switches physically operated by the room dividers, so that selection is automatic. Finally, control from a networked computer is also possible.
We have systems that are specifically designed for room combining and others that include room combining as just one possible option among a vast array of features. Allow us an opportunity to assist you in determining which type of product best matches your needs.
