Performance Audio Systems

Professional Audio at its best . . . that’s what performance audio systems are all about. These sound systems often utilize large mixing consoles to support dozens of microphones with multiple mix busses to create and rout different mixes to different places. Digital signal processing is then applied through filters, equalizers, delays, and compressors. Performance audio systems use professional quality power amplifiers to deliver high power levels with very low distortion, to the loudspeakers. It is not uncommon to drive the loudspeakers to a very high sound pressure level.

The loudspeakers deliver the sound to the audience and are often considered the most important part of any sound system, but in a performance audio system, the selection of speaker configuration, quantity, and physical location, plus aiming, is critical.

To aid in this process, we use software "tools" available to help us model the room or space where the speakers will be installed. This allows our design team to "predict" how specific loudspeakers will operate prior to physical installation. Most pro-quality loudspeakers use pattern controlling high-frequency horns so proper aiming enables us to put sound where it is needed and to keep it minimized where it is not desired.

During the installation process, we again employ software-based "tools" to help our installation crew make sure the speakers are physically placed and aimed properly. This testing equipment also assists in setting up the signal processing settings by providing live acoustical information.

Performance Audio Systems are installed in some of the following facilities:

● Auditoriums
● Performing Arts Centers
● Sports Arenas
● Houses Of Worship – Contemporary Services

We have a passion for audio systems that provide natural sound reproduction . . . high intelligibility for voice response and full robust sound for music reproduction, so when you are ready to step up to a professional quality performance audio system, please consider contacting Berkshire Systems Group.
