Educational Communications Systems

For the Communications Division at Berkshire Systems Group, school intercom systems account for much of our installed customer base. These systems are designed and manufactured specifically to satisfy the unique needs of educators and educational facilities.

We still install "manual" systems, for very small buildings, but most installations use microprocessor-based communications systems to provide powerful features while keeping the operation very simple to use, day in and day out. These systems will often incorporate master time keeping, maintaining synchronized secondary clocks in the classrooms, along with the distribution of electronic "bell" tones to aid teachers and students to "stay on schedule." Business telephone systems are commonly integrated into the intercom system so operation of both the "outside" communications needs and internal communications needs is seamless, making life for the harried staff a little easier.

Recent upgrades now allow systems to be tied to a school’s network so administrative staff may access the intercom system for the purpose of modifying operational settings or change database programming, through a simple browser-based interface, from their own computer. This makes remote access via the Internet a distinct possibility, and centralized control of multiple systems at multiple school district sites, a reality.

Telecor, Inc. has been manufacturing school intercom systems since 1981, and we have been there almost from the beginning. As an example: the second Telecor II system to leave the factory floor, is still in service and is still being maintained by our service technicians.
