Correctional Facility Intercom Systems

Communications systems for correctional and high security facilities share many of the same operational capabilities of traditional intercom systems . . . but these systems often need to operate in an environment that does require features and functions that are unique.

The speakers and call stations must be very robust, to minimize damage. Standard telephones would never be used in a cell, but dedicated inmate/visitor telephone systems, using heavy duty materials are commonplace.

It may also be necessary to utilize speaker assemblies as audio monitoring devices that can detect screams or other loud noises to trigger an alarm. These same speaker assemblies can allow traditional two-way voice communications, so an "emergency caller" can immediately be in voice contact with a security officer.

The Telecor T3-SC Network system is now capable of providing up to 10 simultaneous analog audio channels between systems. And the Telecor AMS Audio Monitoring System has built-in audio analyzing capabilities, for more precise alarm recognition that can significantly reduce false alarm triggers.
